The Opportunity
Advancing Australia’s Negative Emissions
We take carbon from the air and transform it into renewable gases and fuels. We are on a journey to conquer the rising levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Through our pioneering world-first Direct Air Capture (DAC) technologies, we aim to create negative emissions by capturing CO2 and permanently removing it by deep geological storage. We can also develop carbon neutral fuels including methane, methanol and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
Our Story
Based in Sydney, Australia, Southern Green Gas was established in 2018, emerging from a need to achieve negative emissions.
Managing Director and Founder of Southern Green Gas, Rohan Gillespie, identified a gap in energy processes and developed technology to cultivate the use of carbon in a positive light. Southern Green Gas is now managed by a team of Technical Founders and a Board of Directors with many years of experience leading energy and business endeavours.
Southern Green Gas has proven experience creating and leading renewable energy projects with national organisations. We were a finalist in XPRIZE Carbon Removal Milestone Award.
